About Me

Alberto Gross Molo (Gran Canaria, 1996) is a Spanish director and screenwriter with Hungarian roots, graduated in film direction from ESCAC. In 2024, he was selected as a Berlinale Talents by the Berlin Film Festival, developing his debut feature film Catorce de marzo (Fourteen of March) within the Script Station program. This same project also won an award at the Berlinale in 2025.

Grietas (Cracks, 2019) is his first short film as a director and screenwriter. It received a jury mention at Tallinn Black Nights - Pöff Shorts, praising the performances of the child actors. It was also selected and awarded at festivals such as Oberhausen Film Festival, Camerimage, SEMINCI, FESCIGU, and ALCINE. His second short film, SOLO (2022), was nominated for the 2023 Gaudí Awards and was a candidate for the 2024 Goya Awards. It competed in festivals such as In The Palace ISFF, Bogoshorts, Cortogenia, and FESCIGU, among others, and received several awards and nominations, many of which highlighted the performance of the lead actor, Pablo Molinero (La Peste, Chinas). His latest short film, Como antes (Like Before), will soon premiere at the CIFF (Cleveland International Film Festival).

Alongside his personal projects, Alberto also works as a director or assistant director in advertising for brands such as Puma, Costa Cruises, ISDIN, Cupra, Qonto, Macallan, Ópticas 2000, Lidl, Iberia... Additionally, since 2019, he has been teaching narrative and film direction at schools like IDEP and ESCAC, where he also worked in the marketing department as a filmmaker.

Currently, he is developing his debut feature film as a director and screenwriter, Catorce de marzo, the only Spanish project selected for the Script Station at Berlinale Talents 2024 and awarded the VFF Talent Highlight Award at the Berlinale Coproduction Market in 2025. The film was also a finalist for the 2022 Julio Alejandro Screenplay Award by the SGAE Foundation and has participated in other international labs such as Ekran+ at the Andrzej Wajda School (Poland), where he was mentored by directors Paweł Pawlikowski and Ildikó Enyedi, and My First Script at the Zagreb Festival. In Spain, it has been part of ECAM’s La Incubadora 2023, the Faberllull residency 2022, and the D’A Film Lab 2024.
